The Essence Etches Itself in History

Originally produced in 2009 and presented as a concept car the Geneva Auto Show, the Infiniti Essence was touted as the world’s most powerful hybrid with a combined output of 600 horsepower from the electric and V6 motors. Today, this car will be produced in limited editions on a quite smaller scale. The Collector’s “Essence Sculpture” will be available through Infiniti’s online merchandise center.

For the sculpture’s debut, Louis Vuitton hand-crafted a carrying case for this little piece of history, keeping in line with the brand’s quest for “ultimate luxury and savoir-faire”. Want to make this a gift for under the tree, or just a gift for yourself this year? Make sure to order one of these limited edition pieces as soon as possible, as only 300 individually numbered units will be produced world-wide. The brand has also stated that no second production run will be made.

Head to the website at www.infintistyle.com now and for just $300.00 you can have your own piece of history. Personalized Louis Vuitton Damier Graphite cases can be ordered through the company’s special order workshop in France.

South Infiniti Makes Some Noise Over the New EV Vehicle Sounds for Pedestrians

You’re just walking down the street, listening to the pleasant birds chirping and the wind rustling fall leaves, when all of the sudden, a car goes zooming past you- with no noise. You’re probably thinking to yourself, well that wouldn’t happen because I would hear the car. You’re probably right too, unless that car is purely electric.

For years there has been talk of adding a sound awareness component for pedestrians and other’s safety, but Infiniti has been the first to act on this. USA today claims that, “The new audible warning system, called Approaching Vehicle Sound for Pedestrians (VSP), uses a range of distinctive sounds to help ensure the safety of other road users.”

The noisemaker is rumored to make a range of high-low sounds with a speaker built into the front bumper. According to Infiniti’s parent company, the noise will sweep from high to low frequency depending on the vehicle’s speed and whether the vehicle is accelerating or decelerating.

South Motors Infiniti’s Guide to Leasing vs. Buying

Figuring out what kind of car you want is a difficult enough task on its own, and figuring out HOW you are going to get the car can be just as confusing. We’re here to clear one of the most common questions, lease or buy?
Lease and purchase loans are simply two different methods of automobile financing (leasing is NOT renting). One finances the use of a vehicle; the other finances the purchase of a vehicle. Although financial considerations often dominate conversations about whether to lease or buy, it is also important to consider what is important to you as the driver.

If you are interested in driving a brand new car every two to three years, having the advantage of included service, are looking for lower monthly payments, drive an average number of miles, leasing is probably the better option for you.

On the flip side, it you don’t mind higher monthly payments, like the idea of ownership of a car and having something to show for your payments, don’t mind the cost of unexpected repairs, drive more than average miles and expect lifestyle changes in the near future, then buying is a better option for you.

Neither is better than the other, it is simply just more likely that one fits you and your situation better than the other. Leasing can often be confusing, in some situations, leasing can be less clear cut than your typical purchase loan, simply because many people are already familiar with the former.

Here are a few questions to ask when thinking about leasing a vehicle:

  1. What is the actual value of this car?
  2. What is my lease end residual value?
  3. Does my lease include GAP coverage?
  4. What is the depreciation charge?
  5. What is the finance charge?

After taking all of these factors into account, and considering your needs and wants, it will become clear which is better for you. No matter what you choose, Infiniti has options to help you get into your dream car.

Make Your Commute More Fun and Less Chaos

South Motors Infiniti Shares Tips to Prevent Paint Peeling and Rusting

Living in south Florida has many perks, warm, sunny weather- year-round, an eclectic variety of foods and fashions, and of course, the ocean. However, our ocean-side residency also presents its own challenges, especially for our vehicles.

Many vehicles which have witnessed countless Florida sunrises show their age, if they are not taken care of. You know that paint you see peeling, ever so discreetly from the corner of a neighbor’s car or a creeping reveal of rust near that nick on your car you thought would go away? That’s corrosion, caused by the sun and salt air/water, and its damaging effects are more ruthless in our area because of our proximity to the ocean and our water sources. What’s more, are the consequences that corrosion provokes can be unseen, they are hiding in you undercarriage. Below are some general prevention tips that can help you to reduce the effects of salt corrosion to your car.

Wash your car regularly. Even though it may not have a rained in weeks, give you car a wipe down. Many sprinkler systems in Florida are fueled by well water, which by nature in Florida, is much more salinated.
Wax your car at least twice a year. Waxing your car will help to create a barrier between the salinated water and your car’s paint.

Fix chips in your paint immediately. Small chips that seem harmless can grow rapidly and cause much bigger problems with rust and paint peeling.Park in shaded areas, parking decks, or use a car cover. UVA and UVB rays, just like the ones that you wear sunscreen against, can hurt your car too. Your car has a “skin” too, with pores that expand in the hot sun and can absorb dirt and moisture.

Auto Enthusiasts Take Over Miami

The South Florida International Auto Show will celebrate its 40th Anniversary this year, and will open its doors to the public November 5th through November 14th at the Miami Beach Convention Center.

To celebrate the longevity and excellence that is the auto show, a new Green Way and Miami Street Rides attractions will be added with the expectation of bringing new dimensions to the show. One of the shows largest attractions, the Ride and Drive events, are expected to attract the more than 665,000 people that attend the auto show each year.
The new Miami Street Rides attraction will feature all that is aftermarket: tuners, SUVs, lowriders, exotics, drift cars and more. Another new happening at this year’s show will be the Green Way showcase. Green Way will feature 19,000 square feet of electric and hybrid vehicles as well as industry-related, eco-friendly innovations.

Street Rides and Green Vehicles showcases are leaps and bounds ahead of technology that was featured at the first show 40 years ago, no doubt leaving the forefathers of the then 65-member Miami Auto Dealers Association proud. One of the first auto shows in the country when it opened, Miami was, and still is, amongst the big dogs: New York, Detroit, and Chicago. Although there are now more than 60 in country, Miami is still amongst the largest and most prestigious.
