Infiniti has some changes lined up for the 2011 model year, including a welcome for its youngest offering the G25.
The all-new 2011 Infiniti G25 Sedan is a heavily-equipped, more economic variation of the much-loved Infiniti G Coupe. The G25 offers essentially the same interior as its older brother, but with a significantly lower price point thanks to a more modest – but still potent – engine and the absence of a limited-slip differential. Equipped with a more efficient 2.5 liter V6, it produces an impressive 218 HP and is paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission. Our unofficial test drives have left us impressed, and we are looking forward to further developments Infiniti might make in regards to this impressive and affordable sports car.
As for the more traditional G37 Coupe, Infiniti has answered our prayers (and often demands!) by making the Sport Package available on G37 all-wheel-drive models for 2011, allowing you to enjoy the benefits of all-wheel handling without sacrificing the pleasures of their optional Sport Package, including 18-inch wheels, solid Magnesium paddle shifters and sport brakes.
The 2011 Infiniti FX gets a power lift gate, a standard wheel size change to 20 inches and a new color , Malbec Black, which looks both inspiring and stylish. The navigation package have also been added to the premium package, making this a pretty good offer for anyone interested in having in-car navigation.
Another first for Infiniti this model year is the Infiniti Performance Line, which is planned to be similar to the BMW M Division. For starters, IPL has taken the Infiniti G Coupe and done some wonderful things to it, including an up-rated version of the 3.7 liter engine, allowing it to produce a whopping 348 HP and 275 lb-ft of torque, along with a larger exhaust and some new engine tweaks. The IPL Couple also enjoys 19-inchers and stiffer spring rates with newly-tuned dampers. The IPL G Coupe is available with a manual or automatic transmission.
The Infiniti M shows up for 2011 fully redesigned and available with a V6 or V8 engine. Additionally, a third V8 is available for the M that produces a remarkable 420 HP but still manages to deliver better fuel efficiency than its predecessor.
The G Convertible gets new colors and new wheels plus some aesthetic refinements (it is already timelessly beautiful) while the G Sedan also receives some aesthetic changes, a new color and some fresh wheels. The QX also is an all-new design for 2011’s model year, boasting a greatly increased fuel economy and a host of technological and comfort-based improvements.
All together, it is an exciting year for Infiniti, and we look forward the other advancements that Infiniti is planning for 2011.
