The 2011 Infiniti QX56 – First spin

The 2011 Infiniti QX56 is powerful, quiet, family-friendly and a sharp looker as well. Fully re-imagined for the 2011 model year, Infiniti has really outdone themselves in terms of luxury, looks and performance.

The QX56 can climb from 0-60 in an impressive 6.8 seconds, thanks in part to both the 5.6 liter V8 under the hood, the addition of Direct Injection, and a perfectly-paired seven-speed transmission box. Tests show that a couple of its primary competitors, the Escalade and the Land Cruiser, are left in the dust in regard to acceleration, fuel efficiency and handling. Braking is at the top of its class, too.
The quality of the cabin is at an all-time high. The leather, vinyl and wood inlays are remarkably well-finished, and call out to be touched. Seats are numerous and inviting, and the entire cabin is loaded down with tons of pleasing tech.

Priced affordably, its competitors are far more costly once you start adding in the options that come standard on the QX56. It’s a powerful, spacious, luxurious seven-passenger SUV that can hussle you down the highway in absolute comfort or tow whatever it is you need to tow. If shopping for a full-sized SUV, you owe it to yourself to check out the all-new Infiniti QX56.

Introducing the all-new 2011 Infiniti G25

Infiniti introduced a new car to its lineup just a few days ago…the much speculated-upon G25! Poised just below the G37s on the Infiniti hierarchy, the G25 is a V6-powered sedan that’s already selling in Japan.

It’s powered by a 2.5 liter 218 HP engine, delivering less horsepower than its older brother, but looking just as sharp and sharing most of the design and materials. Available in all- or rear-wheel drive, the G25 will have three models offered: the Journey, G25x AWD, and the base G25. All three will match the exterior, interior and chassis of the G37.
With a surprisingly affordable price tag, the G25 should prove quite a hit with its plentiful amount of standard equipment, expert fit and finish and striking good looks. 17-inch wheels, xenon headlights, four-wheel ABS, VDC, traction control and leather-appointed seats all are on the extensive list of equipment.

This should open the door for folks looking to upgrade into a performance bracket but still keep it affordable. The G25 will be available from South Infiniti, soon, so stay posted to our site for the latest developments.

Infiniti Announces Performance Line

Infiniti Announced earlier this month their new Infiniti Performance Line (IPL). IPL is Infiniti’s division to improve the performance in their already class-topping models.

“IPL was conceived to create a new premium performance envelope, going beyond equipment upgrades to accelerate the very soul of Infiniti’s inspired performance,” said Infiniti Vice President Ben Poore. “IPL brings all the elements together: styling harmonized with performance, exhaust note with acceleration feel, ride comfort and confident handling. It’s the perfect formula for unmatched driving exhilaration.”

First up for the makeover is the GCoupe, which is expected to be the start of a long range of IPL revisions of the Infiniti fleet.

The G Coupe’s engine, steering system, brakes, exhaust system and limited-slip differential are all on the list for a high-performance makeover. Exterior gets some handsome aesthetic upgrades, including the IPL badge for the rear.

Larger Than Life Art

Sometimes people muse at what large imaginations artists have, but one artist has created a canvas that is truly larger than life- right here in Miami! Alejandro Mendoza has created 22 giant sculptures out of nylon that are then inflated and supported upright by air through the interior.

Tomorrow, August 3rd, the Botanical Gardens will be hosting a family day from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The day will be filled fun activities including arts and crafts, tours and interactive performances with the giant sculptures. Friday, August 6th, the exhibit will close with a bang providing music and refreshments from 7 to 11p.m.

In fact, why not stop by South Motors Infiniti tomorrow and have your car serviced while you are attending the family day event? Check out the event website at http://www.mbgarden.org/newsandevents.html.

Fresh is Best

Unless you have been hiding under a rock, it would be impossible not to notice the “fresh”, “healthy” and “organic” restaurants now inundating the Miami Metro area.

South Florida’s fast-and-fresh chains are enjoying a hefty slice of the $580 billion U.S. restaurant industry. In 2010, just four locally-based chains expect to sell a total of $97 million in meals.

Owners and patrons alike classify these restaurants as “fast casual”. The idea is that they are getting healthy food fast, while still eating the relatively causal type environment of fast food chains.

Overall, restaurants do well in the Sunshine State. In 2009, Florida had the fourth highest restaurant sales in the United States at $27.6 billion, according to the National Restaurant Association.

Florida may not always be known as on of the healthiest states overall, but the Miami area is quite the exception. In a city where beauty, health and fitness thrive as icons that it’s inhabitants strive for, it’s not surprising the success of healthy restaurants.

These “fresh” upstarts weathered the recession relatively well because they offer entrees that cost less than $10. Fast casual restaurants outperformed all other restaurant sectors in 2009. The top 100 grew 4.5 percent to $17.5 billion in sales, according to food-service consultants Technomic.

Ready to check out some of these “fresh” upstarts? Our suggestion would be to start with Lime Fresh Grill in Downtown Dadeland, just a hop, skip and a jump from your South Motors Infiniti Store.

2011 Infiniti EX

Studies show the Infiniti EX35 has excellent appeal for families and the parents that lead them.

It has elegance, luxury and is loaded up with safety technologies that compliment those motherly instincts to protect one’s brood. The Infiniti EX35 blurs the line between sedan and SUV, with dimensions decisively shorter than typical compact SUVs and regular sedans, giving it an agile feel for the road. An arching roofline and dramatic fenders flare out and dish out hearty doses of roadside sex appeal, making the EX a beautiful sight to behold in and out of the vehicle. Comfortable and welcoming, the cabin is like a second home, with a tactful array of instrumentation in all the right places, and an ergonomic feel to the layout.

Keyless entry and push button start may mean you’ll never have to search your purse for that elusive ring of keys, and xenon headlamps will lead you through every dark curve the night takes you through. Controlling the kids or lecturing the hubby while in transit no longer has to be dangerous, thanks in part to the lane departure warning and correction, and all-around safety technology will protect the family should the unspeakable occur.

Despite having heavy family characteristics, the Infiniti EX35 is a thrill to drive. Fleet and manageable, it delivers a balanced ride and handling, and a hearty dose of power and acceleration. The Infiniti EX35 proves to be another Infiniti success in a long line of successes, and whether you are shopping for a family car or not, we urge you to visit South Infiniti for a product demonstration. We suspect you’ll love every minute of it.

Infiniti M Hybrid doubles efficiency

That’s right. Infiniti will be delivering a new hybrid system for the upscale 2011 Infiniti M later this year, which will double its fuel efficiency. It will also be fully revamping its technology for the regular gas engine variants in order to send its green message. Planned to be in synch with the mother company Nissan’s rollout of the “Leaf” electric offering, green offerings are planned for all of the Infiniti models eventually. Details are few, but some of the innovations for these fuel-saving engines include cutting off the engine at stop lights and other temporary stops, and a unique way of injecting fuel into the engine to boost mileage.

Infiniti Model Year 2011

The 2011 model year is turning out to be one of the most important in Infiniti’s now 21-year history — with the introduction of the all-new, next generation versions of the Infiniti M luxury sedan and Infiniti QX luxury SUV leading the way. Both vehicles are now available at South Infiniti today.

And, while that might be more than enough for most brands, 2011 also brings the introduction of two important product extensions to the award-winning Infiniti G line — which will be announced August 13th and 14th at the annual Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

The Infiniti EX, FX, G Coupe and G Convertible also receive a number of key enhancements for 2011. Infiniti has also announced two near-future models, the Infiniti M Hybrid and an Infiniti EV. More information on these vehicles will be released later in the year ahead.

For the LOVE…of music.

It is incredible what people will do for love. Many Metro area teens know this story very well, as they put their heart and soul into their love- their music- each and every week. These children make their trek to practice with the prestigious Greater Miami Youth Symphony. More than 600 children aged 5 to 19 are a part of the orchestra.

Founded as the All-Miami Youth Symphony by Robert Strassburg in 1958, the GMYS was created to foster a love of music in young people and to enrich the cultural life of the community.  From beginners to prodigies, young musicians can find a place all their own in GMYS.

Although many of the kids can still be diagnosed with Bieber fever, they also know and appreciate the likes of greats from Andrew Lloyd Webber to Carlos Santana.

Tuition is required to participate in the group, but financial aid is made possible for those with the passion. Many of the children also receive free instruments from supporting groups.

As a treat to the entire audience this 4th of July as a part of the Miami Beach holiday celebration, the GMYS will perform at 8p.m. The Symphony Orchestra will perform a variety of patriotic and American selections.  This FREE concert is the perfect addition to any July 4th plans.

The 2011 Infiniti M37

Infiniti stands poised to take the performance-luxury segment by storm with their newly redesigned 2011 M37 Sedan. This midsize luxury sedan, with rear-wheel or available all-wheel drive, is the perfect fit for drivers seeking an athletic and rewarding drive from their luxury car. The 3.7-liter V6, delivering 330 HP, assures that, providing a quick, confident acceleration and more than enough power to handle what the South Florida streets offer on a day-to-day basis.

Outside, the styling is muscular and sleek, with a shortened height from previous models to grace it with a more aggressive stance. It is one of the most spacious vehicles in its class, with an inviting cabin loaded to the doors with technological wonders. The sheer quantity of comfort, entertainment, safety and performance features fit into this incarnation is a marvel of both size and range. Old favorites, like the robust navigation system, return with cosmetic and technological improvements, while new wonders, such as the Forest Air System (see our other blog for a description) make the cabin a relaxing and comfortable place.

Though the 2011 Infiniti M37 has all the creature comforts and luxuries of a full-size sedan, its driving characteristics make it seem like a much smaller car than it is. The engine delivers uniform, abundant power and its agility can embarrass even the most expensive of its European competitors. Sprightly through corners, comfortable over uneven tarmac and downright thrilling down straight-aways, the 2011 Infiniti M37 is a remarkable car that can cover every aspect a driver and his passengers are shopping for.

Overall, it provides its challengers a good run for their money. Despite being far cheaper than its European counterparts, the 2011 Infiniti M37 Sedan delivers more power, a phenomenal drive and an endless list of technological wizardry to the table, making it a required consideration for anyone shopping for the best the luxury-performance segment can offer.
